Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was prepared for submission as part of a planning application for the residential development of the site. The site contained one known archaeological feature. The site was that of the former moated manor house known as Gillibrand Old Hall, which was presumably demolished some time before the construction of the present Gillibrand Hall. As the location of the former moated manor house within the site was not certain, further archaeological investigation would be required to determine the presence and survival of any archaeological remains. Two Listed Buildings (Grade II and II*) immediately adjacent to the assessment site would not be affected by the proposed development, although their settings would need to be considered to avoid any adverse affect.
