Abstract: |
Extensive 15th and 16th century deposits and features belonging to, and associated with the Bishop's Palace were excavated during the evaluation. Later additions and alterations were also uncovered along with evidence for a gatehouse as depicted on John Speed's map of 1610. A 16th century midden revealed numerous interesting details about animals exploited by the large kitchen. [AIP] |
