Abstract: |
An archaeological desk based assessment was undertaken on a site proposed for development which was believed to lie across the line of the 13th century defensive wall known as the Marsh Wall. The study established that the site included part of a large hall, Merchants Hall, originally occupying the late-15th century St. Clement's Chapel and part of the Marsh Wall. Further archaeological work was recommended to locate, record and date any surviving elements of the wall along with any of its associated features. [AIP] |
