Abstract: |
The desk-based study established that the application area was agricultural land until its development by Britton's at the end of the 19th century. An industrial building was erected in the south-east corner of the site in 1899 or early 1900. This building was gradually extended during the first two decades of the 20th century. In 1961 a major development of the site took place with the construction of a new factory building. The original 1899 buildings were retained although a number of the later additions were probably removed. [Au(abr)] |
