Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during groundworks for a children's centre. Topsoil was removed from the entire site except for the north-west corner which had the spoil heap located on it. A shallow pit was recorded but did not contain any archaeological finds. As a result this watching brief provided largely negative evidence. The post-medieval pottery sherds found on site were indicative of manure spreading suggesting the site was once used for agricultural purposes. [AIP] |
