Abstract: |
The site at Oak Hill Lane was in the vicinity of known find spots of prehistoric, Roman and medieval date. Documentary research showed that the site under investigation was used as a quarry in the post-medieval period. Oak Hill House was constructed in the middle of the 19th century for the Goddards, an influential family associated with Victorian Ipswich. By the 1880s glass houses and a pond associated with Oak Hill House were located on the site. [Au(abr)] |
