Abstract: |
Very little was known about the survival of archaeological deposits within the town of Axminster. However the town centre was likely to contain important archaeological deposits, most certainly dating from the medieval period, and possibly Roman or earlier date. Survival of deposits along the site frontage would have depended on the amount of levelling that had taken place before the laying of the existing concrete floors. [Au(abr)] |
