Abstract:
A full archaeological survey was undertaken of Kilnsey Old Hall, a substantial mid-17th century house, ahead of the proposed return of the building to domestic purposes, after more than a century of agricultural use. The survey identified that the house which was created by the remodelling of structures on an earlier site, and the fairly limited period of domestic use had ensured the survival of a considerable number of original features.
