Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on groundworks for the development. The earliest features recorded were a series of Saxon post holes and pits, some of which contained burnt daub. A large gravel extraction pit was found containing a sequnce of industrial backfill, and two ditches dating to the medieval phase of the site were observed. Further post-medieval pits were noted, also a cellar and foundations of a 19th century building. [Au(adp)] |
