Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out on proposed changes to a Grade I Listed hall and parkland. The assessment identified that the parkland had not been much altered since the 16th century and was the site of a former medieval house. A ditch possibly linked to a moat was identified and a Second World War air raid shelter. The site was also close to the junction of two Roman roads and a Saxon settlement, giving the site potential for Roman and Saxon Archaeology. [Au(adp)] |
