Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	<summary>A watching brief was undertaken on the excavation of a water pipeline trench. The route of the pipeline was within the line of the presumed infilled ditch to Scots Dyke, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Apart from a possible field wall setting, no recognisable archaeological deposits were observed. However, the location of the works suggested that the subsoil observed was in fact part of the fill of the ditch.
