Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken on the excavation of a water pipeline trench. The route of the pipeline was within the line of the presumed infilled ditch to Scots Dyke, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Apart from a possible field wall setting, no recognisable archaeological deposits were observed. However, the location of the works suggested that the subsoil observed was in fact part of the fill of the ditch. The orientation of the pipeline trench along the line of the presumed ditch precluded the possibility of observing a cross-section which might have confirmed this. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1/092 |
