Abstract: |
Two plots of land were investigated prior to proposed development for housing. Evidence of Roman occupation in the form of ditches, gullies and a posthole were discovered. The pottery evidence pointed to a single phase of occupation in the third quarter of the 1st century AD. The linear character of the features suggested elements of a field system, however, the concentration of the features and the large assemblage of pottery recovered could also have indicated a settlement.
