Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment of the site occupied by the Kingston Mills was undertaken. All the evidence related to post-medieval and later occupation within the assessment area, most of which was occupied by mills and factories producing cloth and later, india rubber. It was likely that the tenements fronting on to Silver Street and Kingston Road, at the north and west ends of the assessment area, had medieval or possibly Saxon antecedents. [Au(abr)] |
