Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the construction of the rising main. The route of the pipeline lay in close proximity to the DMV of Thorne (SAM Devon: 708). No features associated with Thorne were destroyed during the work. A single unstratified sherd of medieval pottery found was contemporary with the settlement. Various bank features which were thought to be part of a medieval field system turned out to be natural in origin. [AIP] |
