Abstract: |
An assessment of the proposed route of the A605 Bypass revealed a number of potential archaeological features. These included a large earthwork possibly relating to the use of the area as a deer park; and another possibly relating to a Saxon parish bound. An area of ridge and furrow was also identified. In addition, the proximity of the development area to Sheepwalk Roman villa suggested the possibility of further Roman finds. |
