Abstract: |
Three test-pits were excavated within the chancel of a redundant church which was a Grade II Listed Building, in advance of its conversion to a dwelling. The church was believed to have been completely rebuilt in modern times, although recent investigations had suggested that a large proportion of the medieval nave had survived beneath 19th century refacing and repairs. During the evaluation, two inhumations were found. The date and significance of these was uncertain, due to the limited nature of the excavation. No evidence of structural activity associated with anything other than 19th century rebuilding was revealed. [AIP] |
