Abstract: |
An excavation was undertaken at the site behind 6-12 Northbrook Street to investigate the construction of a water feature and a 'water bottle' discovered during an earlier evaluation, and to examine a palaeochannel for Mesolithic occupation. The water feature was lined with layers of hurdles presumably to consolidate its banks, the hurdle layers were sealed by 17th-18th century dumping. Nothing of Mesolithic date was found. The watching brief discovered nothing of archaeological interest. [AIP] |
