Abstract: |
Fieldwalking, dry-stone wall survey and an intermittent watching brief were carried out in advance of the extension of the quarry. The fieldwalking produced a low density of worked flints throughout three fields. The dry-stone wall survey examined three wall junctions and relationships were established between the walls. Two other presumed junctions were not extant in July 2000. The watching brief did not observe any archaeological deposits below the topsoil and a small quantity of worked flint was retrieved from the disturbed topsoil. [Au] |
