Abstract:		 Geophysical survey was carried out on land referred to as 'Kiln Fields'. Historical research and surface finds suggest that this may have been the site of tile manufacture for Rievaulx Abbey. Good geophysical evidence was found for a number of kilns. The study area also appears to be characterised by several ditches possibly containing fired material, field walls or trackways and large dumps of kiln waste. [Au(abr)]
