Abstract: |
The evaluation of the proposed development site comprised two machine-excavated trial trenches. The site lay within an area of both local archaeological importance and high potential, being situated within the medieval nucleus of the village and in the presumed area of Anglo-Saxon occupation. No evidence for activity prior to the Norman Conquest was recovered, however features such as ditches, a gully and a stake hole probably dating to the medieval period were recorded.[Au(abr)] |
