Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundwork associated with the erection of a two storey extension to an existing property. Monitoring of the excavation of the foundation trench systems revealed a sequence of deposits relating to recent 20th century activity overlying the natural gravels and clays. A single fragment of a 18th/19th century clay tobacco pipe, as well as a sherd of a late unglazed vessel, was recovered throughout the duration of the watching brief. [Au(adp)] |
