Abstract: |
Eight evaluation trenches were excavated on the site. Previous geophysical survey had showed linears and rectilinear enclosures. Trench 1 contained ditches from two enclosures, one replacing the other. Trench 2 contained a large Iron Age ditch and a smaller linear feature. Trench 3 contained a small quarry pit and trench 4 a shallow linear feature. Two ditches and a pit were found in trench 7; the larger ditch contained Iron Age pottery. Trench 8 contained a large Iron Age ditch, which possibly served as a boundary. [Au(adp)] |
