Abstract: |
Excavation was undertaken in advance of the construction of an extension to the Clemenson Memorial Hall. The earliest period of occupation was represented by two Early Bronze Age burials accompanied by Beaker pots, perhaps originally covered by a barrow. The major feature of the site was a putative Iron Age boundary, consisting of a ditch and two, possibly three, pit/post-hole alignments. An enclosure, a ditch, a fence line and more small pits/post-holes may also have been of this period. [Au] |
