Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief during the construction of a factory unit on the Sutton Fields Industrial Estate identified a complex system of boundary and irrigation ditches which were cut by a series of pits and associated features. Artefacts recovered from these features indicated Romano-British settlement from the 2nd to 4th century AD. Further evidence was recovered for occupation during the 12th century AD, and this continued until the early part of the 20th century when the site was used for pasture. In 1983 the site became part of the Sutton Fields Industrial Estate. {italon}AIP {italoff} |
