Abstract: |
This study was completed to update the study undertaken in 1991. There was evidence for prehistoric activity both within and around the study area in the form of flint finds and enclosures sites. The present field patterns represented part of the former medieval open field system, enclosed by hedgebanks in the later medieval or post-medieval periods. Some woodland and trackways might also have been medieval. Medieval and post-medieval settlements with structures, boundaries, milestones, mines and quarries could also be encountered. [Au(abr)] |
