Abstract: |
A watching brief was held over demolition and excavation works for the construction of a new gas power station. No archaeological features or deposits other than those associated with the 19th century Seabank Farm were recorded largely because of the scattered distribution of sites of whatever period across the Henbury Levels; and because any archaeology present on the site before the 1960s would have been removed by groundworks associated with the former gas works on the site.
