Abstract:
The evaluation was undertaken on a site close to two known groups of Early Saxon burials. The excavation produced evidence of an ancient buried topsoil horizon, two small gullies, and pits. These produced no finds and could not be more closely dated. The possibility that the pits and gullies represented activity associated with the cemetery could not be ruled out, and further archaeological work was recommended should future development become a threat to the resource.
