Abstract: |
An evaluation involving a rapid measured survey of earthworks and a resistivity survey was undertaken at the proposed site of a sewage treatment works. Inspection of the field revealed only two features, comprising a hollow 0.12m in depth, accounted for by the proximity of a gateway, and a second hollow c. 0.05m in depth. The resistivity survey identified several high-resistance anomalies, notably an apparent rectangle, and a second area which may have represented the presence of stonework. It was concluded that the results of the geophysical survey seemed to indicate that trial excavation should be undertaken, in order to clarify the nature of the anomalies. [AIP] |
