Abstract: |
Excavation following evaluation and prior to development revealed rich archaeological deposits. Iron Age features including a ditch, pits and post-holes were covered by waterlain clay deposits which suggested the area was flooded and not resettled until the 16th or 17th century. Flints suggested Mesolithic activity in the area, whilst rich finds from post-medieval deposits and cess pits were made. Limited environmental analysis confirmed the potential of samples taken from the site.[AIP] |
