Abstract: |
The excavation revealed the presence of two (possibly three) truncated Saxo-Norman pits, reflecting domestic activity in the immediate area. From the 13th to the 16th century the land to the east of the existing Bursary Range of Trinity College had been extensively utilised as gardens or open plots, these periodically being cut through to extract the underlying natural gravels.
