Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was carried out in advance of proposals for the construction of a new supermarket and petrol filling station in Wednesbury. The area investigated was located to the west of Camphill Lane. The investigation was intended to provide further evidence of the early post-medieval pottery industry, which was located in an adjoining archaeological excavation further to the west. The area investigated was found to have been heavily truncated by 20th century cellared structures which had entirely scoured-out any evidence of earlier activity. [Au(adp)] |
