Abstract: |
The purpose of the evaluation was to investigate a linear anomaly identified on an aerial photograph. Evidence of a former trackway that probably went out of use in the mid 19th century, probable 20th century fence posts and evidence for iron smelting were located. Dating evidence for the smelting was not recovered, and it could have related to early ironworking or the importing of slag for road construction. [Au(abr)] |
