Abstract: |
A desktop assessment was commissioned ahead of the beginning of a proposed housing development. It was clear from scant archaeological and historical information available that there was no indication of significant archaeology being present in the development area. While archaeological remains of some importance (Bronze Age and Anglo-Saxon burials) occurred within 500m of the development area, no evidence had emerged to suggest that elements of their associated settlements or agricultural landscapes would be seen during the course of the new construction. Archaeological fieldwork was considered a useful next stage despite the negative result. [Au(adp)] |
