Abstract:
The site lay in an area of potentially rich archaeological remains. There were significant remains of all periods in the vicinity but nothing was known from the site itself. Apart from a few structures in the eastern part of the site there did not appear to have been any development during the past century and recently it had been pasture. The density of past activity expected in such a fen-like position and the lack of recent development implied a high potential for the site. [Au]
