Abstract: |
Five trenches were excavated across the site. Trenches one and two were located in the west end of the field, adjacent to the road and produced little evidence for archaeological deposits. Trenches three-five were located further into the field and located a cobbled surface of medieval or post-medieval date to the north and a series of parallel medieval boundary ditches and gullies running across the field on a N-S alignment. A deep medieval holloway also ran through the site on a N-S alignment; tightly packed cobbles paved the base. [Au(adp)] |
