Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed residential development site which lay adjacent to the parish church of Maiden Newton, parts of which dated from the 12th century, and was thus located within the core of the medieval settlement. Some farm buildings, including a Listed stone and thatch cart shed, were to be retained within the proposed development. During the evaluation, a sherd of 18th century or later pottery was recovered, but no archaeological features or deposits were revealed. [AIP] |
