Abstract: |
The evaluation, consisting of two trenches, revealed a linear feature, containing no artefactual remains, apparently sealed by a deposit from which burnt and struck flint was recovered. This was sealed by peat, which may have dated from the Bronze Age and would have formed during a period of marine regression. Trench 1 was truncated by a ditch or channel exposed in section in the lower step. Timber was visible in the edge of this ditch at the base of the trench. Pottery dating from the early 17th century was recovered from the fill of this feature. [Au(abr)] |
