Abstract: |
The watching brief identified a palaeochannel of unknown date. A flint assemblage was recovered dating from the Mesolithic period through to the Bronze Age. Smithing slag was found in lake deposits of possible Iron Age date. Coal extraction shafts were also observed but no datable evidence was found. Finds associated with post-medieval ploughing and a boundary ditch were encountered. [Au(adp)] |
