Abstract: |
The study identified three principal interests. First, the possible presence of deposits related to the medieval settlement which was cleared by the time of the construction of the 16th century house. Secondly, the site may have contained evidence for a formal Tudor garden, and thirdly, the site may have lain within a planned 18th century garden, shown on an elaborate plan, but which may not have been constructed on the proposed site.
