Abstract: |
The evaluation confirmed the presence of friary structures. These included part of a possible east/west precinct wall fronting the supposed course of the River Frome and a wall within the east range of the Great Cloister. Later walls appeared to follow suggested medieval wall lines within the Great Cloister and at the east end of the church. Medieval occupation deposits and features were also found. Post-medieval walls and features related to the conversion of the friary buildings to secular use following the Dissolution. [Au(abr)] |
