Abstract: |
A gradiometer survey was carrie dout on the site. Upstanding ridge and furrow has been identified and plotted, by both geophysics and topographical survey, with associated holloways and headlands. Two modern service pipes and a modern track have also been located, as has a possible quarry or pond and a flood bank. Remnants of medieval furrows have been identified in area 3, having suffered from plough damage in the past. Other soil-filled features identified in the area include linear boundary ditches and a pit with an associated pipe. Area 4 revealed a wide curvilinear soil-filled ditch and the possible remains of a stone wall or revetment associated with the ditch. [Au(abr)] |
