Abstract: |
During 2005 and 2006, an archaeological watching brief was maintained during groundwork for the construction of a new stand at The Brickfields Recreation Ground. These works revealed surviving elements of the early phase of the Devonport Dock Lines, built during the 18th century to defend the naval establishment. The remains included the scarp to the ditch and a tunnel providing access to the Place of Arms. [Au(abr)] |
