Abstract: |
A study area of c.31km2 was examined through a variety of documentary sources. In addition, a geophysical survey and an aerial photographic assessment were carried out. In general, the study area appeared to have supported a high level of human activity throughout later prehistoric and historic periods. The potential for the survival of deposits relating to such activity seemed to be high, notwithstanding recent agricultural and development activity. A total of 400 sites was identified within the study area, many of which being within the vicinity of the proposed route. [Au(adp)] |
