Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a utility service trench. Several patches of metalled surface were uncovered; although no {italon}in situ{italoff} dating evidence was recovered, it seemed probable that they were related to the debtors prison which stood on this site from 1835 - 1935. Evidence relating to landscaping work carried out after the demolition of many of the prison buildings in the 1930s was also observed. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 1992.173 (YAT investigation identification no) |
