Abstract:		 An assessment was carried out in advance of a proposed apartment block. There was no direct evidence for any medieval activity in the area despite the proximity of the Abbey. However, there was evidence of the Civil War defensive line and a redoubt on the site as well as later post-medieval activity. [Au(abr)]
