Abstract: |
The works were carried out in relation to a proposed new house. Some post-medieval garden features were observed during topsoil stripping, and sherds of medieval and post-medieval pottery were recovered from the lower topsoil. No features were encountered, but the presence of 13th to 17th century pottery suggested that the footprint of the new building may lay just to the rear of the tenements fronting the High Street.
