Abstract: |
Monitoring of the foundation trench revealed one archaeological feature cutting into the natural sand clays. This consisted of a probable boundary ditch backfilled with brick and tile fragments indicating occupation of the site in the early post-medieval period. A small quantity of artefacts was recovered during the watching brief and included pottery from the 17th-19th centuries, brick from the 18th century and tile fragments which were dated in this area from the 12th century to the present day.
