Abstract: |
Geophysical surveys (gradiometer and resistibility) were carried out on two areas of garden at Middleton Hall. The resistibility surveys detected anomalies which were interpreted as reflecting the remains of wall footings for buildings. One building was detected in each area, as well as two walls of another possible building. Parts of a garden wall and a path may also have been detected. The gradiometer survey was not so informative, but did detect a possible garden feature and areas of possible brickwork. [Au(adp)] |
