Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of the proposed site of an electricity generating plant was carried out. Although no archaeological evidence had been recorded at the site itself, it lay within an area where Roman and other remains had been noted. Examination of a borehole survey revealed that a Tilbury IV peat horizon covered much of the site, indicating potential for Bronze Age remains. It was concluded that further archaeological work on the site would be necessary.[AIP] |
