Abstract: |
The site of the proposed development revealed a range of archaeological features of Anglo-Saxon and medieval date. These principally consisted of a series of recut ditches running north-east to south-west, containing pottery dating from as early as the 6th to 9th centuries and continuing into the medieval period. It was possible that these features reflected the Anglo-Saxon origins of the settlement now forming the historic core of Lechlade. [Au(abr)] |
